Hound square
Our first stop on the tour is Hound square.Â
Various events are held here throughout the year such as the:
Involvement fair
Career con
Bloodhound Thursday and much more
Some interesting facts about hound square is it’s been used as a filming location for various shows such as law and order svu, manifest and Annie to name a few
Amenities of Hound square
Across from each we have JJay Cafe and the Game Center
Next to cafe we have the men’s prayer room and on the opposite side we have the women’s prayer room
Academic support and tutoring
Also on the same floor we have the writing center and math and science resource center
On the 7th floor we also have the modern language center, they provide tutoring and workshops in 9 different languages.
They offer online tutoring, one on one or group tutoring
Keep in mind that these services are free but appointments must be made in navigate 360
Dining hall
This is the student dining hallÂ
Currently we don’t have a food provider at the momentÂ
But you’re still free to access the dining room for its seating and microwaves
As mentioned before events will be held in the dining hall throughout the year
To stay up to date keep an eye out for the bulletin boards for the latest events
It’s a great opportunity to meet your fellow bloodhounds and become involved in the community
Jay Walk
This is our jay walk, we’re extremely fortunate to have this beautiful rooftop environment for its students to enjoy.
You’re allowed to hangout and enjoy your lunch and refreshments here but please maintain the cleanliness of the rooftopÂ
The Jay walk also connects Herran hall to new buildingÂ

They’ll also have flags on the grass for the 9/11 memorial vs
Harren hall 2nd floorÂ
The large TV that will display information, job and internship opportunities, scholarships, and eventsÂ
We used to have our military and veterans services center in harren hall but it was moved in Westport located on 56th street 10th aveÂ
Herran hall is currently under renovations at the moment so we won’t be able fully explore the building
Haaren hall is actually our oldest building on campusÂ
It also has its own entrance on 10th avenue
Beneath the entrance is where the Lloyd Sealy library is also located
As a student your allowed to use its amenities, rent out books, equipment, and study spaces, must be reserved in advance fyi
Pool
This our indoor swimming pool
Swim meets are held here as well as swim classesÂ
Students have access to the pool but only during its assigned swim schedule, currently we our in our summer schedule
But Things the schedule is subject to changeÂ
Dance room
This is the dance studio
It’s a multipurpose room, rented out for dance practice, rehearsals, or even yoga classes
At the moment we’re unable to access it
Do IT help desk
this is our Do It help desk, it’s our go to resource for technology support
They assist with any issues or questions regarding email, passwords, and wifi
Their hours of support is available on the website. They accept walks, and offer remote support via phone or email
If your having any technical issues I’d recommend going here before classes start since walk in lines tend to get long
Public safety
This is our public safety office
Inside the office they have an officer present so you can speak to them directly in regards to public safety
They have their lost in found located there
If you need to get your ID replaced, you’ll go here to get a new one
Computer lab
this is our computer lab
They providing both black and white and color printing
They have classrooms here so if your taking a math or science course you may have a class here
They have loaner laptops that must be reserved in advanced
They also have rental cameras if your taking a photography class which is cool
CSIL
this is our center for student involvement & leadership
Or also known as club row
They support student involvement through social events and leadership opportunities
Having more than 60 clubs covering academic, cultural, recreational and service interests
If you believe you have an idea for a club or want to start one, you’d go to this office
If you’re involved in one of these clubs you’re free to use the lounge
Blood hound depot
Next up is our bloodhound depot
This is where you get your official merch
They offer a variety of styles and items to represent the school
The hours of operation are to your right but will change based on the season, it will changed once the semester begins
LGBTQ+ resource center
this is our LGBTQ+ resource center lounge
This a safe space and All are welcome to enjoy, gather and connect with each other
They also hold special events throughout the semester
Student council
this is our student council office, they’re the student governing that represents the students and organizes campus events
Jay express
Right in front of you is our Jay express
It’s our one stop shop for questions about financial aid, transcripts, changing majors, and establishing a minor
They’ll answer general questions about the various offices and their services
If further assistance is needed they’ll direct you to the office that will best assist you
Bursar
this is our Bursar
they handle the billing, financial transactions, and provide information on all payment methods
They accept card, cash and checks at the booth
But in the Bo’s over there they only accept checks

And the LGBTQ+ resource center
These offices here specialize in providing services to students within those programs, organizations and the community
Wellness center
Coming up is our wellness center
They offer various services such as free counseling, emergency funding, food pantry and free break and lunch to name a few
For any additional information you can grab any brochures or go into the office for further details
Accessibility services
this is our office accessibility services
They ensure that students with disabilities have equal access and the proper accommodations to succeed
If you an IEP back in high school you will need to visit this office and submit the necessary documents since IEPs don’t transfer
The Immigrant student success center
this is the lounge and a safe space for students of any documentation status
They offer academic, financial and legal support for students
They hold various events throughout the year in collaboration with other organizations such as brothers beyond borders
For any additional information you’re free to take any brochures or visit the lounge
The dean of students
this is our dean of students
This office is here to ensure students feel supported both inside and outside the classroom
You can come in any time to speak to our Dean Dominic Stellini,
Atrium
This is our atrium, as you can see the main entrance is in that direction.Â
We have our statue of John Jay himself
We also have the theater, with various showcases presented by its students
They offer job opportunities as an usher throughout the year
As mentioned before our 9/11 memorial is in that direction to honor the alumni who’ve passed
Academic advisement center
This is our academic advisement center
Everyone is assigned an advisor during their first year in John Jay, you must make a 1-1 appointment with your advisor
Your advisor will assist you with academic planning and keeping you on track towards graduation
To make said appointment you must use the navigate 360 app
If your in a different program such Apple corp, seek or honors you will have a different advisor
The Urban male initiative
this is the Urban Male initiative office
Their a program supports students of color, particularly men
They offer tutoring and mentoring for those in the program
they have their own computer lab and lounge
The career learning lab
this is our career learning lab
As mentioned in our slide show it’s a free resource that you are free to use
They offer assistance with resumes, job counseling, and internship opportunities
To utilize their services to its fullest you will need to make an appointment via navigate 360
