Midpoint
A point that is directly in the center of a line, that divides the segment in half.
Bisect
To cut something in half and create two equal parts.
SSS Congruence Theorem
If three sides of one triangle are congruent to three sides of another, they are congruent.
SAS Congruence Theorem
If two sides and the angle between them are congruent to that of another triangle, they are congruent.
Vertical Angles
Angles that are opposite each other when two lines cross.
Alternate Interior Angles
Angles that lie on the opposite sides of the transversal but are within the same pair of parallel lines.
ASA
Angle-Side-Angle; a method for proving triangles congruent by having two angles and the included side congruent.
AAS
Angle-Angle-Side; a method for proving triangles congruent by having two angles and a non-included side congruent.
HL
Hypotenuse-Leg; a method to prove two right triangles congruent by having their hypotenuse and a leg equal.
