Goods

A physical item (see + touch).

Service

Something that is done for you. E.g. Table

Brand name

A name given to a product/service that distinguishes to from competitors and gives it an identity. E.g. Tayto

Guarantee

A promise by the manufacturer to repair or replace for free within a certain amount of time. E.g. Kia - 7yr warrantee

Caveat Emptor

Let the buyer beware.

Redress

The different remedies available to consumers who purchase faulty goods or poor quality services - Refund, repair, replace

Online Consumer

Buying items over the internet using payment such as credit cards.

Cooling-off period

Period of 14 days during which time you can change your mind and return goods for a full refund.
