Object Lines
A.K.A. Visible Lines, solid and the thickest of the line types
Hidden Lines
Dashed lines used to represent edges that are not visible-do NOT dimension
Dimension Lines
Solid, unbroken lines with arrows at each end, used with measurement to represent distance between edges
Center Lines
Alternating solid and dashed lines, used to represent symmetrical center of object or void-NOT used as dimension lines, can be extension lines
Extension lines
Thin, unbroken lines that extend from edges. Used in conjunction with dimension lines
Phantom Lines
Alternating solid and two dashes, used to represent additional positioning of an object
Maximum number of orthogonal views
6 (top, bottom, front, back, left, and right)
