The complete range of EM waves in order of increasing frequency and decreasing wavelength.
Electric Forces
Produced by electric charges either at rest or in motion.
Magnetic Forces
Produced only by moving charges and act solely on charges in motion.

Electromagnetic waves used for communication, radar, and heating food.
Infrared Waves
Electromagnetic waves associated with heat, used in things like thermal cameras, remote controls, and heat sensors.
Visible Light
The part of the electromagnetic spectrum that can be detected by the human eye.
Ultraviolet Rays
High-energy electromagnetic waves from sources like the Sun that can cause sunburn.
X-Rays
High-energy electromagnetic waves that can pass through soft tissue and are commonly used to create medical images.
Gamma Rays
The highest-energy electromagnetic waves, produced by nuclear reactions and some radioactive processes.
