Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)

Person who is generally focused on policies for the security of an organization's data and information, making sure it is backed up, and determining access rights.
Involved in data loss and fraud prevention

Chief technology officers (CTO)

Runs IT engineering group
Serves as top technology architect.
Collaborates with and manages vendors
Primarily interacts with external customers
Reports to CIO

Chief security officer (CSO)

Person in charge of such things as the physical security and safety of employees, facilities, and corporate assets.
Coordinates with COO and HR divisions
Has responsibilities outside of traditional IT infrastructure

IT managers/IT project managers

Person in charge of software application development teams that develop, design, program, and test software applications.
Work within IT infrastructure teams to lead the programming and implementation of various software tools or systems
Use SDLC & UML

Network administrators

Responsible for:
business's networks
networking technology
hardware and software
adopt policies & procedures that define rules for network access

Information security analysts (ISA)

Responsible for protecting all sensitive information within an organization.
Deploys firewalls
Identifies security problems, risks, and attacks
Performs regular internal audits of system, application, and supplier interfaces to check for system vulnerabilities

Database administrators (DBAs)

Responsible for database security, integrity, and reliability
Categorize data requirements
Create the database entities and models
Use ERP & CRM, also normalize data

Web developers/Senior web developers

Prepare, plan, and implement web-based software applications.
Includes implementing the visual elements that users see and use in web applications

Computer programmers (coders)

Responsible for producing both system and application software by writing lines of programming instructions for a computer to follow.

Computer support specialists (Help Desk)

Responsible for installing and performing minor repairs to hardware like motherboards, performing software troubleshooting, and making sure peripheral equipment (e.g., printers) work properly.
Sets up equipment and provides frontline support to employees regarding software or hardware
Also referred to as help desk technicians

Computer systems administrators/System administrators

Responsible for setting up larger computer assets like network servers and maintaining them for smooth, error-free operation
Ensures upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of multiuser computers
Acquires, installs, or upgrades computer components and software

Computer systems analysts

Responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing information systems
Also referred to as a business technology analyst
Must have great communication skills, as they are the conduit between IT and the rest of the organization.

IT architects/Applications architects

Responsible for designing parts of computer applications like screen interfaces, middleware, and programming infrastructure
Partners with application developers to implement IT solutions based on design specifications
Partners with computer programmers to ensure end products or services meet intended goals

IT Portfolio Manager

Responsible for the standardization of software rules and plans
