Anthropometry
the study of the measurements of the human body and is used to study the differences between group race, age, and sex.
Static measures
Passive measures of the dimensions of the human body when the body is in a fixed position, measures individuals segment weight and data can easily be determined.
Dynamic measures
Measurements that are taken while the body is engaged in some type of physical motion, measures ROM.
Endomorph
High body fat, soft body, round shoulders and wide hips
Mesomorph
Low body fat, muscular body, broad shoulders, narrow hips, and strong forearms and thighs.
Ectomorph
Little body fat or muscle, narrow shoulders and hips, thin and flat chested
Anthropometric method
Rating form and takes into account for body dimensions; used equipment like scales, skinfold caliper, and measuring tape to find somatotype
Newtonian Anthropometry
Data is used in mechanical analysis of the loads on the human body, and is related to strength measures.
