x=2 or x=− 4/5, step 1= find factor pairs of -8, step 2= then times one factor in each pair by 5 and add the other factor, the pair that gives you an answer on -6 is the correct one. step 3= number outside of multiplication goes in first bracket etc (5x+4)(x−2), step 4= x would be the negative of the values in brackets ( bracket 1= -4/5 and bracket two is 2)
x= 4 or x= -8/5 so y=5 or y= -6.2
