Coordinate Systems
Methods used to describe space, including Cartesian, Cylindrical, and Spherical systems.
Cartesian Coordinates
A coordinate system that uses x, y, z axes to locate points in space.
Cylindrical Coordinates
A coordinate system that uses r, theta, z to locate points in a three-dimensional space.
Spherical Coordinates
A coordinate system that utilizes r, theta, phi to describe points in three-dimensional space.
Trigonometric Functions
Mathematical functions (sine, cosine, tangent) that relate the angles of a triangle to the lengths of its sides.
Dot Product
The scalar product of two vectors, representing the projection of one vector onto another.
Vector Multiplication
Operations that can involve either scaling a vector by a scalar or multiplying two vectors, resulting in a scalar (dot product) or a vector (cross product).
Matrix
A rectangular array of numbers that can be added, multiplied, or inverted.
Determinant
A scalar value derived from a square matrix, providing important properties related to the matrix.
Cross Product
A vector operation on two vectors that results in a vector that is perpendicular to the plane formed by the original vectors.
