Lits superposés - a type of bed in which one bed is stacked on top of another.

Death camp

Camp de la mort / d’extermination - a camp where large numbers of people are kil

Divertissement - activities meant for amusement or enjoyment.

Forced labour

Travail forcé - work that people are compelled to perform against their will.

Gas chambers

Chambres à gaz - a method of killing by gas inhalation.

Resting time

Temps de repos - designated time for rest.

Soap

Savon - a substance used for washing and cleansing.

Crematory ovens

Les fours (crématoires) - ovens used for the cremation of bodies.

Fit for work

Les aptes au travail - those deemed physically capable of work.
