The Self

The viewpoint of society as a whole that shapes an individual's self-perception and consciousness.
Communication

A socially recognized position (e.g., mother, daughter, teacher) that defines various roles an individual occupies.
Social Role
The behavior expected of an individual holding a specific status within a society.
Self-reflexivity
The ability to reflect on oneself as an object, a characteristic that differentiates humans from lower animals.
Socialization
The process through which individuals learn about their status and roles within society.
Symbolic Interactionism
