Generalise (v)

• Making a general statement that something is true in all cases, based on what is true is some cases

• We shouldn’t generalise about the poor

Facilitate (v)

• To make something possible or easier

• He facilitates learning by constantly reviewing his notes

Affluent (adj)

• Having a lot of money or owning a lot of things

• It is difficult for businesses to attract affluent customers

Alleged (adj)

• Something negative is believed to be true, but not proved

• He was an alleged drug dealer and killer

Fruitful (adj)

• Producing good results (involves interaction)

• He had a fruitful conversation at the negotiation

Liberal (adj)

• Respecting and allowing many different types of beliefs

• Young people tend to be more liberal; old people tend to be more conservative

Idealistic (adj)

• 不切實際believing something good may happen even tho it is unrealistic

• Often people have such an idealistic picture of farming that it bears almost no relation to the reality
