What is ATTRS and what is it used for?
Army Training Requirements and Resources System
Centralization of Training Requirements, Input Training, & Evaluation of Program Execution
ATRRS is an online system which provides mission-critical support to Total Force readiness, manning, and training throughput management including: centralization of training requirements; accessions required to meet statutory end strength; management of trainees through the training base from accessions to first unit of assignment; building and sustaining operational unit and personnel readiness; individual institutional training (i.e. initial military training, professional military education, and functional); and evaluation of training program execution.
• Course Catalog: Lists formal institutional training, professional military education (PME), and functional courses available to soldiers and Department of the Army civilians.
• Tracking and Transcripts: It records student attendance, graduation statuses, and unofficial training transcripts.
• Readiness Planning: Headquarters uses the system to forecast future training needs, match soldier qualifications to unit requirements, and support overall force readiness.
What is ATIS and what is it used for?
Army Training Information System
Individual Training Records, Weapons Qualifications, Fitness and Body Composition, and Unit Metrics and Schedules
ATIS is a centralized digital platform used to deliver, schedule, track, and manage standardized training and education for soldiers, Department of the Army civilians, and contractors. This system has replaced both DTMS (Digital Training Management System) and ALMS (Army Learning Management System).
• Mandatory Compliance Training: Completing required annual training courses (like cyber awareness, TARP, safety, and anti-terrorism)
• Career Development: Tracking individual soldier training records, skill levels, and professional military education milestones throughout their Army career.
• Unit Training Management: Provides commanders and training NCOs with dashboards with metrics, building and scheduling tools for training, and real-time tracking for individual and unit records and management.
• Automated Administrative Processes: Significantly reduce the time spent on manual tasks.
Discuss the purpose of a training meeting.
Training meetings are a second type of ATG (annual training guidance) periodic review. These meetings continuously review training just conducted, coordinate future training plans and resources, and act as a forum for the commander to issue additional training guidance as necessary. (ADP 7-0, 4-14).
Regular Army and Reserve Component brigades serving on active duty conduct training meetings monthly and battalions conduct training meetings (and training support meetings) each week or bi-weekly at a minimum. At the company level, units conduct training meetings weekly.
Reserve and National Guard conducts training meetings monthly.
What are the three phases of a training meeting?
Phases: (1) Assessment, (2) Coordination, and (3) Future Planning
Assessment: Participants review last week’s training. The feedback is input by the platoon leaders and platoon sergeants is critical to assessing METs, leader tasks, and individual task proficiencies of the unit. Company leaders also discuss agenda items and ensure training assessments are recorded.
Coordination: Participants review training guidance, run pre-execution checks, and coordinate logistical support or resources.
Future Planning: Discuss future planning on the calendar, looking out at short-range and mid-range training events.
TC 7-0.2, Training Meetings
Published June 2025 by the Training Management Directorate. It builds on the Army’s core training doctrines, ADP 7-0 and FM 7-0.
What is an ATG?
Annual Training Guidance
A part of long-range planning and preparation. Commander and unit leaders develop the long-range training plan together. It is then briefed for approval to the commander of two echelons above during the annual training briefing (ATB). Once approved, staffs publish it as the commander’s ATG. At a minimum, it specifies:
Who is trained and why.
What is trained (priorities).
The proficiencies to achieve.
Training priority due dates.
Describe the 8-step training model.
What are the components of the training management cycle?
Training management is the process commanders use to prioritize, plan, and identify the resources needed to conduct training (ADP 7-0, 4-1).
The training management cycle is a continuous process of prioritizing, assessing, planning and preparing, executing, and evaluating training. (ADP 7-0, 4-2).
PRIORITIZE TRAINING
Assess training proficiencies

Mid-range planning and preparation
Short-range planning and preparation
