review the clients health history questionnaire. look for medical conditions, medications, allergies, or other indications that the client is not an appropriate candidate for the treatment

look briefly at the client’s skin ( including neck and skin with your naked eye or with mag lamp. for more accurate analysis you will need to remove client’s makeup in the following step

cleanse the skin

cover the eye with eye pads. make sure the eye pads are not to large or they may block the eye area you need to analyze or treat

use the magnifying light to examine the skin more thoroughly

look closely to determine the clients skin type, the conditions present, and the overall appearance

touch the skin with fingertips to feel the texture, its oil and water content, and its elasticity. pay attention to the t-zone

ask and listen, ask questions about their skin’s appearance, the clients health, and their lifestyle to gain a better understanding. verbally describe to your client what you are finding in your analysis

apply a toner and moisturizer or sunscreen to balance and protect the skin
step 10
recommend a skin care pan that includes professional treatment and skin care products for a home care regimen

record your finding and your recommendations in the client chat- usually after the treatment is completed
