What is a stakeholder?

A person, group or organisation that can affect the project, is affected by it or believes it may be affected

What information is recorded in the stakeholder matrix?

The stakeholder’s name or group, interest in the project, level of power and whether they are internal or external

What is an internal stakeholder?

Someone outside the organisation, such as customers, suppliers, regulators or local communities

What is an external stakeholder?

Someone outside the organisation, such as customers, suppliers, regulators or local communities

Why should the stakeholder matrix be updated?

Stakeholders’ influence, attitudes and interests can change during the project

Why is stakeholder analysis harder internationally?

There may be additional governments, regulators, local partners, communities and decision-makers whose influence is not immediately obvious
