Intertestamental Period
A period between the Old and New Testaments that indicates the history leading to the coming of Jesus.
Alexander the Great
A king of Macedonia who created one of the largest empires in ancient history and influenced the spread of Hellenistic culture.
Kingdom of God
The reign of God over the universe and the concept central to Jesus’ teaching.
Incarnation
The Christian belief that God became flesh in the person of Jesus Christ.
Discipleship
The process of following Jesus and adhering to his teachings.
Anointed One/Messiah/Christos
Refers to Jesus as the expected deliverer of the Jewish people.
The way of suffering/the way of the cross
The path of self-sacrifice and suffering that Jesus exemplified.
Holy Spirit
The third person of the Holy Trinity, representing God's presence and power.
Eschatology
The study of the end times and the final events of history.
New Jerusalem
The prophesied heaven and ultimate dwelling place of the righteous, as described in Revelation.
Barabbas
A prisoner released instead of Jesus, symbolizing the choice between liberty and justice.
Gethsemane
The garden where Jesus prayed before his crucifixion.
Golgotha
The location outside of Jerusalem where Jesus was crucified; also known as the 'Place of the Skull.'
Pentecost
The Christian festival celebrating the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles.
The marginalized
Groups of people who are often sidelined in society, including sinners, the poor, and the sick.
Fruit of the Spirit
The visible attributes of a Christian life as outlined in Galatians 5:22-23, such as love, joy, and peace.
