Fovea
A small, shallow depression or pit found on the surface of a bone.
Head
A rounded end of a bone, often found at the top of long bones.
Condyle
A rounded articular projection on a bone.
Facet
A smooth, nearly flat surface on a bone.
Fossa
A shallow basin-like depression in a bone.
Ramus
An arm-like projection of a bone, resembling a saw.
Epicondyle
A raised area above a condyle.
Tubercle
A small, rounded projection on a bone.
Tuberosity
A spread-out, large rounded projection on a bone.
Process
Any prominent projection on a bone.
Line
A narrow ridge, less prominent than a crest, on a bone.
Crest
A narrow, prominent ridge on a bone.
Spine
A sharp, slender projection on a bone.
Meatus
A canal-like opening in a bone.
Fissure
A narrow slit-like opening in a bone.

A round opening in a bone.
Notch
An indentation on the edge of a bone.
Groove
A furrow or channel in a bone.
Sulcus
A very shallow furrow in a bone.
Sinus
An air-filled cavity within a bone.
