AFMAN 11-402 Aviation and Parachutist Service
establishes aviation service, policy, and procedures for awarding USAF aeronautical ratings and aviation badges to all aircrew members.
Aeronautical Orders (AO)
issued to start or end your aviation career, allows you to perform your duties on your assigned aircraft and entitle your CSIP.
Aviation Start Date (AO)
the effective date of the first order to perform flying duties as a Career Enlisted Aviator (CEA).
Basic Aircrew Badge
temporary awarded upon completion of level 3 courses, permanently rewarded after IQT
Senior Aircrew Badge
awarded after completion of at least 7 years of aviation service and at a skill level 5.
Chief Aircrew Badge
awarded after at least at 15 years of aviation services and at a skill level 7.
