Operations on Algebraic Fractions (Pronumeral Denominators)
Applying addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to algebraic fractions with pronumerals in the denominator.
Expansion using Distributive Law
Expanding algebraic expressions using the distributive law, including binomials, and collecting like terms.
Factorising Algebraic Expressions
Factorising algebraic expressions by identifying and taking out a common algebraic factor.
Expanding Binomial Products
Multiplying two binomial expressions together.
Solving Linear Equations
Finding the solution to equations that include one variable and can be solved in a maximum of three steps
Substitution into Formulas
Determining unknown values by substituting given values into a formula.
Defining Pronumerals in Word Problems
Defining variables when translating word problems into equations.
Solving Linear Inequalities
Finding solutions, or set of solutions, to equations where one side is greater than, less than, greater than or equal to, or less than or equal to the other side.
Quadratic Equations
An equation with a squared variable as its highest power.
Hypotenuse
The longest side in a right-angled triangle
Adjacent Side
The side next to the angle we are interested in.
Opposite Side
The side opposite the angle we are interested in.
Sine
The ratio of the length of the opposite side to the length of the hypotenuse (Opposite/Hypotenuse).
Cosine
The ratio of the length of the adjacent side to the length of the hypotenuse (Adjacent/Hypotenuse).
Tangent
The ratio of the length of the opposite side to the length of the adjacent side (Opposite/Adjacent).
Angle of Elevation
The angle made with the horizontal plane when measuring up to an object
Angle of Depression
The angle made with the horizontal plane when measuring down to an object
Midpoint
The point that divides the interval into two equal parts.
Gradient
Measure of the steepness of a line segment
