Switchgear

Main Switchgear (MSG)

The first entry point into Building C from the utility substation, and the first point inside the building where power can be controlled.

Power Logic Display Meter

A display meter (PM870 METER) on the MSG that shows real-time utility conditions supplied by the county, including Volts, Amps, and Kilowatts.

SEL-351S

A protection relay that provides utility feeder and over-current protection for the Main Switchgear.

MSG Input Voltage

The voltage level at which power enters the Main Switchgear from the utility, which is $13,200\,V$.

High-Volt Distribution Panel (HDP) Transformers

Transformers located in each of the building's four quadrants that receive power at $13,200\,V$ from the MSG and step it down to $480\,V$.

MSG Wet Cell Batteries

Two panels of wet cell batteries and a battery charging system inside the MSG that supply power to the Power Logic display and the SEL-351S relay, and assist with breaker switching.
