University of Ilorin Establishment
Established by a Decree of the Federal Military Government in August 1975 as part of the country’s Third National Development plan.
Dr. T.N Tamuno
Professor and Head of History Department at the University of Ibadan who was appointed the first principal of the college in September 1975.
Professor Oladipo Olujimi (O.O) Akinkugbe
The first and foundation Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin (1975-1978) and first Nigerian Professor of Medicine at the University of Ibadan.
Prof. I.O. Oloyede
The first alumnus to serve as Vice Chancellor (2007-2012), the current JAMB registrar, and the namesake of the University of Ilorin Library.
Prof. Wahab Egbewole (SAN)
The 11th and incumbent Vice Chancellor who assumed office in October 2022 and was called to the Bar in 1985.
HRH Umar Sulaiman
The Emir of Bedde and the 1st Chancellor of the university (1978-1981).
HRH Alhaji (Dr.) Abdulmumini Kabir Usman
