Tenuto
This symbol has several meanings: May indicate that a note be played for its full value
Staccato
Performed in a detached

The note is played louder or with a harder attack than the surrounding unaccented notes. May be on notes of any duration.
Marcato
The note is played somewhat louder or more forcefully than a note with a regular accent mark.
Fermata
An indefinitely-sustained note
Tie
Indicates that two or more notes joined together are to be played as one note with their time values added together. Must be notes on the same line or space.
Slur
Indicates two or more notes to be played in one stroke
Tutti
Italian for "all"; everyone plays together after a solo or small group.
Piano Concerto
A piece of music written for piano soloist and orchestra.
Chords
Three or more notes played together at the same time.
Triads
A type of chord made of three notes: root
Tonic Note
The 1st (home) note of a scale; e.g.

The distance between two notes.

A symbol showing that a note should be played louder or with more force.
Fermata (repeat)
A symbol over a note or rest meaning "hold it longer than usual."
