Data Structure ek tarika (way) hai jisme data ko organize, store aur manage kiya jata hai, taaki usse easily access aur use kiya ja sake.

Python mein common Data Structures hain:

  • List

  • Tuple

  • Dictionary

  • Set

Easy AI/ML/DS Example

Agar tumhare paas student dataset hai, to:

  • List → Sab students ke marks

  • Tuple → Fixed information (ID, Name)

  • Dictionary → Ek student ki details (name, age, marks)

  • Set → Unique city names

Ye sab alag-alag Data Structures hain jo data ko organize karne mein help karte hain.

list

List (list) ek Data Structure hai jo multiple values ko ek hi variable mein store karta hai. List ordered hoti hai aur iski values ko add, remove, ya change kiya ja sakta hai (mutable).

List ko square brackets [] ke andar likha jata hai.

Examples:

  • [10, 20, 30]

  • ["Umar", 22, 95.5]

  • Stores multiple values in one variable.

  • List ki values ko elements ya items bhi kaha jata hai.

  • Ordered hoti hai (elements ka order maintain rehta hai).

  • Mutable hoti hai (values change, add, remove kar sakte ho).

  • Duplicate values allowed hoti hain.

  • Different datatypes ek hi List mein store kar sakte ho.

  • Indexing support karti hai (first element ka index 0 hota hai).

  • Square brackets [] use hote hain.

  • Nested List possible hai, yani ek List ke andar doosri List store kar sakte ho.

Agar dataset mein students ke marks store karne hain aur future mein naye marks add ya update karne hain, to List use karte hain.

marks = [85, 90, 95]

Baad mein naya mark add kar sakte ho:

marks.append(98)

Tuple

Tuple (tuple) ek Data Structure hai jo multiple values ko ek hi variable mein store karta hai. Tuple ordered hota hai, lekin banne ke baad uski values change nahi ki ja sakti (immutable).

Tuple ko round brackets () ke andar likha jata hai.

Examples:

  • (10, 20, 30)

When to Use List vs Tuple

Use List When

List use karo jab data change ho sakta ho.

Examples:

  • Naye elements add karne ho.

  • Elements remove karne ho.

  • Values update karni ho.

AI/ML/DS Example:

Model training ke baad naye students ke marks dataset mein add hote rehte hain.

marks = [85, 90, 95]
marks.append(98)

Use Tuple When

Tuple use karo jab data fixed ho aur change nahi hona chahiye.

Examples:

  • Student ID

  • Date of Birth

  • GPS Coordinates

  • RGB Color values
