Covenant

Covenant

A sacred promise or agreement between God and humans

Faith

The theological virtue that makes it possible for us to believe in God and the things that he has revealed to us.

Faithfulness

The loyalty and steadfastness that God shows to all humans, even when they sin. God's offer of friendship is never withdrawn.

Descendants

A person, plant, or animal that is descended from a particular ancestor.

Conscience

The god-given ability that helps us judge whether actions are right or wrong. It is important for us to know God's laws so our conscience can help us make good decisions.

Original Sin

The sin of our first parents, Adam and Eve, which led to the sinful condition of the human race from its beginning.

Temptation

An attraction to sin, those actions and omissions that go against the right reason and against God's law.

New Adam

A title for Jesus. By his obedience to the Father, and willingness to give his life, Jesus made amends for Adam's disobedience, overcame sin, and bought us eternal life.

Covenant

God makes covenants with groups of people which involve obligations, consequences, if the obligations are not fulfilled, and sacrificial worship.

Conscience (definition)

a gift from God that helps judge right and wrong.

Human Intellect

Understand that human intellect, will, and freedom are gifts from God that enable human beings to know him, love him, and serve him.
