The 2.2L engine introduced in 25.5MY as an evolution of the RZ4E, featuring enhanced power, torque, and durability.
25.5MY D-MAX Model Line-up
A total of 22 variants where all 1.9L variants are replaced with 2.2L variants and all M/T variants are discontinued.
2.2L Max Power Output
120kW at 3,600rpm.
RZ4F Peak Torque
400Nm at 1,600−2,400rpm, with peak output achieved 200rpm sooner than the 1.9L engine.
RZ4F Bore x Stroke
83mm×100mm, increased from the 80mm×94.4mm found in the 1.9L engine.
Electronic VGS Turbo Charger
A new design for the 2.2L engine with increased compressor and turbine size and a lower friction bearing for better efficiency.
Idle Stop Start (ISS)
A function available for 3.0L and 2.2L variants designed to enhance fuel economy and reduce exhaust emissions while maintaining Euro5 standards.
Automatic hydraulic valve lash adjusters
Components in the 2.2L engine designed to reduce the need for adjustments during engine service.
Steel timing chain
A component on the 2.2L engine that ensures a lifetime service schedule.
8-Speed Automatic Transmission
A new transmission mated to the 2.2L engine with a widened gear range and tuned shift mapping to provide direct and smooth gear shifts.

3,500kg, representing an increase of 500kg compared to the 1.9L equivalent.

A new 4x4 variant aimed for family buyers, featuring refined drivability and 3.5T towing capability.

5,900kg, which is an increase of 400kg over the 1.9L model to match the 3.0L engine performance.
