Gerald Lawson

left an impact on the world of game design and 3d modeling. He is one of the first African American computer engineers in Silicon Valley. His work on the Alias/Wavefront software package really impacted the way that 3D graphics were created in a good way. His techniques and software have changed the way we create and experience virtual reality.

Lanny shoot

Lanny Smoot who has the most patents in all of disney history and greatly contributed to star wars: Galactic Star Cruiser and madame liotta helped bring to life experiences. The most iconic part about Galactic Star Cruiser are the extending light sabers which Lanny Smoot created. The floating Madame Liotta illusion is the center of attraction in the whole haunted mansion and was difficult to work with because of the complex technology. Lanny Smoot has also invented the electronic panning camera. The panning camera was a way for a person to become their own director of television programming from home. In conclusion, Lanny's Smoot achievements and invention(s) such as the Galactic Star Cruiser, Madame Liotta, and the electronic panning camera showcases his skills and intelligence which helps his role in Disney.

2000. Spiritual People was then later released in the United States in 2001.

4
New cards

Six integral components used in the creation of a design

Line

Color

Space

Form

Texture

Value

5
New cards

Vertical line meaning

Dignity, formality, stability, and strength

6
New cards

Hori line meaning

Calm, peace, and relaxation

7
New cards

Diag line

Action, activity, excitement, and movement

8
New cards

Curved line

Freedom, natural, having the appearance of sift mess and creates a soothing feeling/mood

9
New cards

Color

Warm colors: red,orange, yellows

Cool colors- blues purples and greens

10
New cards

Form shape

The shape, outline, or configuration of anything

11
New cards

Shape

Open, uncluttered shapes.

Cramped busy

Unused vs. good use of space

12
New cards

Texture

Smooth surface: reflects more light and therefore a more intense feeling

Rough surface: absorbs more light and therefore appears more darker

13
New cards

Value

The relative lightness or darkness of a color.

Shade- degree of darkness of a color

Tint- a pale or faint variation of a color

14
New cards

Visual design principles

Balance

Rhythm

Emphasis

Proportions and scale

Unity

15
New cards

Balance

Parts of the design are equally distributed to create a sense of stability

16
New cards

Symmetrical or formal balance

The elements within the design are identical in relation to a centerline or axis

17
New cards

Radial balance

Design elements radiate outward from the center

18
New cards

Vertical balance

The top and bottom parts are equal

19
New cards

Horizontal balance

The parts on the left and right are equal

20
New cards

Rhythm

Repeated use of line, shape, color, texture or pattern

21
New cards

Regular rhythm

An element is repeated at the same repetition/ interval each time

22
New cards

Graduated rhythm

The beats of the element become closer or further apart as they move

23
New cards

Random rhythm

The beats of the element are random or are at irregular intervals

24
New cards

Graduates rhythm

The repeated element is identical with the exception of one detail increasing or decreasing gradually with each repetition

25
New cards

Emphasis

Points of attention in a design.

The features in a design that attracts one’s eye.

Focal point

26
New cards

Proportion

Comparative relationships between elements in a design with respect to size

27
New cards

Scale

The proportions or size of one part of the image in relationship to the other

28
New cards

Unity

Unity is applying consistent use of lines, color, and texture within a design

29
New cards

Reverse engineering

The process of taking something apart and analyzing its workings in detail, usually with the intention of understanding its structure, function, and operation

30
New cards

Functional analysis

  • First, the product's purpose is identified.

  • Next, observations are made to determine how the product functions. These observations are recorded in detail.

  • Lastly, the system's inputs and outputs are listed.

31
New cards

Stages of reverse engineering

Visual analysis

Functional analysis

Structural analysis

32
New cards

Function

An annotated sketch with all visible components labeled is created

33
New cards

Black box systems model

Used to identify what goes into and out of the product in order to make it work as a system

34
New cards

Reverse engineering tools

Micrometers, caliper, optical probe, medical imaging, handheld 3D laser scanner

35
New cards

Why is reverse engineering used?

Improve or redesign a product

Investigation

Discovery

Documentation
