Bracketing

The intentional under exposure and over exposure of succeeding photographs (BKT button)

Scale placement

Scale must be vertical or horizontal, and on the same plane as the item

Lighting techniques

Oblique lighting: light at an oblique angle of 45° or less

Transmitted lighting: best when photographing prints on clear plastic or tape

Diffuse lighting: best when a print is on a curved or shiny surface

Tire impression

Capture 7.5 feet of impression recommended that 12 inch segments are photographed

Latent Digital Evidence Disk request

Fill out LPU sheet

email CSI Simonds and CSI Yuan with request

place sheet in tray on plotter printer

keep a copy of the log sheet for your notes

once you receive your CD place the log sheets in the envelope with CD and seal it

attach the LPU carbon copy envelope on the dims envelope

place RMS sticker on the back of the LPU carbon copy envelope log and place packet in the evidence locker on the LPU shelf
