Impulse transmitting cells, Star-like appearance, Highly sensitive to external stimuli, Longest cells in the body, Incapable of cell reproduction
neurons
specialized nerve cells that transmit electrical and chemical signals throughout the body

non-neuronal support cells in the nervous system that protect, nourish, and maintain the balance of neurons
