White Belt
Signifies innocence, as that of the beginning student who has no previous knowledge of taekwondo
Yellow Belt
Signifies the earth from which a plant sprouts and takes root as the foundation of taekwondo is being laid
Green Belt
Signifies the plant’s growth as taekwondo skills begin to develop
Blue Belt
Signifies the Heaven towards which the plant matures into a towering tree as training in taekwondo progresses
Red Belt
Signifies danger, cautioning the student to exercise control and warning the opponent to stay away

Chon Ji
19 - means literally the heaven and the earth. In the orient, it is interpreted as the creation of the world or the beginning of human history, therefore it is the initial pattern that is learned and played by the beginner. This pattern has two similar parts, one to represent the heaven, and the other, the earth.
Dan Gun
21 - is named after the holy Dan-Gun, the legendary founder of Korea in 2333 BC
Do-San
24 - The pseudonym of the patriot Ahn Chang-Ho (1876 to 1938 AD). The 24 movements represent his entire life dedicated to furthering the education of Korea and its independence movement
Won Hyo
28 - the noted monk who introduced buddhism to the Silla Dynasty in 686 AD
Jee Sang
24 - Jee means earth, representing the foundation of the world. Sang means above the earth, representing the spirit of the GTF. The 24 movements in the pattern represent the 24 hours of each day that we learn, connect with each other, gain insight, knowledge, and wisdom. The 4 directions in this pattern represent our inner compass, with it, we’ll never lose our way. When we connect the jee and the sang, we connect the heaven and the earth, creating an invisible strength that lives on.
Yul Guk
38 - Is the pseudonym of the great philosopher and scholar Yi-Il (1536 to 1584 AD), nicknamed the confucius of Korea. The 38 movements in this pattern refer to his birthplace of the 38 degree latitude and the diagram represents scholar
Dhan Goon
23 - Is named after the founder of Korea. The 23 movements of this pattern represent the first two digits of the year 2333 BC, when, according to legend, Korea was born. This is grandmaster Park’s progressive interpretation of the traditional taekwondo pattern of the same name
Joong Gun
32 - Is named after the patriot Ahn Joong Gun, who assassinated Huro Bumo Ito, the first Japanese governor general of Korea, also known as the man who played the leading part of the Japan-Korea merger. The 32 movements in the pattern represent his age when he was executed in Lui Shang prison in 1910.
