What are three pieces of evidence that Jesus was not speaking symbolically or metaphorically when He said we are to eat His Flesh and drink His Blood?

In His conversation with Nicodemus, Jesus clearly explains that He was speaking of being "born again" symbolically, but when He teaches about eating His Flesh and drink His Blood, He does not say He is speaking symbolically; Jesus repeats Himself three times when teaching about consuming His Flesh and Blood, and each time His words get stronger Jesus uses many metaphors about Himself in His teaching (ex: I am the true vine, and so forth). NO one left Him because of those teachings. But they left Him when He called himself the "bread of life" because they knew He meant it literally.

Why do we need faith in order to accept the teaching of the Real Presence?

The Doctrine of the Real Presence is a mystery, similar to the mystery of the Trinity. It defies physical reality. Although it is reasonable to believe in the Real Presence based on what Jesus revealed and taught us, it requires faith to truly accept it.
