Probability
A measure that quantifies the likelihood of a specific outcome occurring among all possible outcomes.
Population
The entire group from which a sample can be drawn.
Sample
A subset of individuals selected from a larger population.
Inferential Statistics
Statistical methods that allow researchers to infer conclusions about a population based on sample data.
Discrete Data
Data that can take on a countable number of values.
Continuous Variable
A variable that can take on an infinite number of values within a given range.
Frequency Distribution
A summary of how often different values occur in a dataset.
Central Tendency
A statistical measure that identifies a single value as representative of an entire distribution.
Probability Value
A numerical measure of the likelihood of an event, ranging from 0 to 1.
z Score
A statistical measurement that describes a value's relation to the mean of a group of values.
