Boundaries of Competences

Services must be provided only within the boundaries of education, training, and experience. Practitioners must refer out when their competence is insufficient.

Providing Services in Emergencies

In emergencies where competent services are unavailable, practitioners with closely related training may provide temporary services.

Maintaining Competence

Continuing education and training are required.

Bases for Scientific and Professional Judgments

Work must be based on established scientific and professional knowledge.

Delegation of Work to Others

Practitioners must ensure delegates are competent and that delegation does not lead to exploitation or loss of objectivity.

Personal Problems and Conflicts

Practitioners must refrain from activities when personal problems prevent competent performance and must take measures to limit or terminate duties if problems interfere with work.
