gerrymandering

redrawing political districts to favor a political party. This is done by packing or cracking. Packing puts all of one ethnic group into one district And cracking separates an ethnic group into multiple districts so that their vote doesn't count. This leads to politicians running unopposed, more extreme political candidates and low voter turnout because people know that their votes do not matter.

expansion of European powers controlling Africa and Asia; the demand for raw materials expand imperialism during the 1800 industrial period

States have complete sovereignty over the 12 nm but have to allow for right of passage if there is not 12 nm, meaning if a ship means them no harm they have to let them pass but they would be allowed to inspect the ship before passage.
