Imperfect Tense
A verb tense used to describe past actions that were ongoing or recurring.
Regular -AR endings in Impefect Tense
-aba, -abas, -aba, -ábamos, -abais, -aban.
Regular -ER/-IR endings in Imperfect Tense
-ía, -ías, -ía, -íamos, -íais, -ían.
Ir (to go) in Imperfect Tense
iba, ibas, iba, íbamos, ibais, iban.
Ser (to be) in Imperfect Tense
era, eras, era, éramos, erais, eran.
Ver (to see) in Imperfect Tense
veía, veías, veía, veíamos, veíais, veían.
Reflexive verbs
Verbs that indicate that the subject performs an action on itself.
Despertarse
To wake up.
Acostarse
To go to bed.
Levantarse
To get up.
Cepillarse los dientes
To brush one's teeth.
Lavar
To wash.
Ducharse
To take a shower.
Sentarse
To sit down.
Imperative form of 'lavarse' for tú
Lávate.
Imperative form of 'acostarse' for nosotros
Acostémonos.
To translate 'I brush my hair' in Spanish
Me cepillo el pelo.
To put on (clothing) in Spanish
Ponerse.
