Confidence Interval (CI)
A range of values that is likely to contain the true population proportion, with a specified confidence level, typically 95%.
Binomial Distribution
A probability distribution that summarizes the likelihood of a value taking on two possible outcomes based on a fixed number of trials.
Cumulative Binomial Distribution
The probability of observing a certain number or fewer successes in a binomial experiment.
Sampling Error
The difference between the sample statistic and the actual population parameter it estimates.
Z-score
A statistical measurement that describes a value's relationship to the mean of a group of values, expressed in terms of standard deviations.
Standard Error (SE)
An estimate of the variability of a sample statistic; it reflects how much sampling distribution deviates from its mean.
Point Estimate
A single value given as an estimate of a population parameter.
Wald Method
A method for constructing confidence intervals for proportions based on the normal approximation.
Agresti-Coull Method
A method for constructing confidence intervals that adjusts the estimates based on sample size for better accuracy.
Proportion (p̂)
The estimated proportion of successes observed in the sample.
