If the data collected during the experiment has enough statistical significance to prove the null hypothesis incorrect
How do you use a spectrophotometer?
Turn on device → set to the correct wavelength → calibrate machine with a blank/control sample → measure test solutions → in between every sample place the control sample back into machine to recalibrate it
How do you use a pipette?
set micropipette to proper volume on the dial → attach a disposable tip → press plunger to the first stop → draw the liquid slowly → press to the second stop to dispense
P-value
stands for “probability value”, in chemistry our P-value is 0.05.
If the calculated P-value is LESS than 0.05, the results are statistically significantly different (meaning data is good).
If the calculated P-value is GREATER than 0.05, the results are NOT statistically significantly different (data is not good)

A P-value of .004, meaning it is < 0.05, indicating that stigma protein concentration in different varieties of lilies is significantly different
