‘Email Overview’ Dashboard

Shows:

Delivery — Get a snapshot of how your email campaigns are performing in terms of sends and bounce rate.
Sends — A graph that shows the number of emails sent within the filtered time period.

Timeline Graph — A graph that shows sends and bounce rates over time.
Engagement — An overview of how your email campaigns are performing in terms of email opens. Open related measurements may not accurately reflect engagement. Tell me more.
Open Rate — The percentage of emails opened within the filtered time period.
Click to Open Rate — The rate of unique clicks to unique opens. This rate indicates how effective the email message, design, and content performed, and whether it encouraged the recipient to act.
Delivery & Engagement Timeline — A graph that shows the open rate and the click-to-open rate.
Email Performance — Your email performance data.
Conversion Funnel — Provides insight into the success of your email campaigns.
Engagement Distribution — Your top 10 emails shown in a bubble chart. The x axis represents the open rate and the y axis represents the click to open rate. An optimum email has the following traits:
A high number of sends — The larger the bubble, the higher number of sends.
A high open rate and a high click-to-open rate appear at the top right corner of the graph.
The least desirable result is a large bubble in the bottom left corner of the graph because it indicates a high send rate with a low open and click-to-open rate.
Journey Performance by Email–Journey performance data. Only available if you have Journey Builder enabled in your account.
Top five journeys–The top five email journeys by open rate.
Bottom five journeys–The bottom five email journeys by open rate.

Bounce Rate – The percentage of the number of emails that didn’t reach the intended recipient.
Delivery Timeline – The selected measurements over a timeline. You can also select the granularity that you want to filter the graph by, for example, daily.

‘Intelligence Reports for Engagement Advanced’ and Pre-Configured Dashboards - Out of box Dashboards workaround
In ‘Intelligence Reports for Engagement Advanced’ version Pre-Configured Dashboards - Out of box Dashboards cannot be customized. However, take a standard pre-configured dashboard (like the Email Overview or Journey Performance dashboard), make a duplicate copy of it, and then fully edit the copy.

Create a Pivot Table
In Analytics Builder → drop down menu appears, click ‘Intelligence Reports’. → click on the ‘Pivot Tables’ tab, → click ‘Create Pivot Table’. → in the canvas on the right, to add data to the pivot table, click ‘+ Add a Field’ button at the bottom of screen. → When adding data, Dimensions are always placed in Rows or Columns, while Measurements are always placed in Values. The pivot table changes as you add or remove data. → when you’re done adding data, close the ‘Add Data’ window. → In the Pivot Table Settings window, set the date range for the data that you want to view. → To apply a filter, in the ‘Filters’ section, click the ‘+’ icon and set your filters. You can also apply a filter inside the pivot table in the column header. →
If you have Intelligence Reports Advanced, you can create and edit calculated fields by clicking the Add Calculated Field icon.
→ Name the pivot table. → To visualize your data in a chart, go to top right, turn on ‘Visualize’.
To show specific dimensions and measurements, or to change the display, located in middle top right, click on ‘Gear’ icon → click ‘Chart Settings’.
To change how the results are sorted, located in middle top right, click on ‘3 Descending order line icon’ button → click ‘Chart Top and Sorting’.
To view the pivot table as a flat table, click the ‘flat table icon/grid box icon’ button.
→ To save, export, or download your pivot table, click ‘More Actions’. → Save your work. The new pivot table appears in the Pivot Tables list, and you can edit, delete, and export it.
Create a ‘Pivot Table’ from a Widget
In Analytics Builder → drop down menu appears, click ‘Intelligence Reports’. → On the ‘Dashboards’ tab, select the widget that you want to convert to a pivot table. → Click the ‘Options’ icon and select ‘Explore in Pivot Table’ → You’re redirected to the ‘Pivot Tables’ tab, and the data now appears in a pivot table.
Customize a Pivot Table
In Analytics Builder → drop down menu appears, click ‘Intelligence Reports’. → click on the ‘Pivots Tables’ tab, select the pivot table that you want to change and click ‘Edit’ or click on Gear icon/’Setting’ button. → in the Pivot Table Settings window:
to hide a dimension or measurement, hover over the field name and click the eye icon.
To delete a field, click X.
To add or change data, click the + icon. or click, hold OR Select the ‘dimension’ or ‘measurement’, and then drag down to bottom ‘Rows’ or ‘# Values’ box
To hide the column or row totals in the pivot table, click ‘Options’ next to ‘Columns’ or ‘Rows’ and deselect the checkbox.
→ Click the blue ‘Apply’ button in the bottom right. You'll see this reflected on the panel to the left of the pivot table preview. → ‘Save’ your changes with the blue button in the bottom right. ‘Save as New’ is also an option.
The most common error is reaching the maximum limit of 8,000 rows that you can present in the UI. If you receive this error, you have two options:

Export a Pivot Table
In Analytics Builder → drop down menu appears, select ‘Intelligence Reports’. → click and be on the ‘Pivot Tables’ tab, select the pivot table. → Click ‘More Actions’ and then select the export option:
Schedule Export — If you want to export to a report with a defined schedule, for example create a report every Monday at 8 AM, you have two options. When you select an option, the report format and options change according to the selected format.
Pivot Table (Excel) — Exports the pivot table to an Excel file as a pivot table object without including the totals.
Flat Table — Creates a report in an Excel format.
Export — If you want to export to a flat file, you have two options:
Pivot Table (As Is) — Exports the pivot table to an Excel file as is.
Flat Table — Exports the pivot table to an Excel file as a flat table.
Yes - manage Pivot Table
Does managing Pivot table mean you can edit, duplicate, and delete existing pivot tables? Yes or No
Edit — If you want to change a pivot table, for example, change the dimensions and measurements.
Duplicate — If you want to create a copy of a pivot table to change it.
Delete — If you want to delete a pivot table.
Note When you delete a pivot table, it goes to your workspace bin. If for some reason you want to restore a pivot table, contact support.
Apply Filters to a ‘Pivot Table’
Go to Analytics Builder → drop down menu appears, select Intelligence Reports. → click and be on the ‘Pivot Tables’ tab, select the table that you want to apply a filter to. → In the ‘Pivot Table Settings’ window, under ‘Add Filters’, click the + icon.
→ You can also add a filter directly from the column header. → Search for the dimension or measurement that you want to filter by, for example, Campaign. → Use the operators to specify how you want to filter. For our example, select ‘Contains’ and enter the value Welcome. →
To add another condition, click +Condition. For example, enter Birthday. → To apply both conditions, use an ‘AND’ statement. If you want to filter for campaigns that contain either word, use an ‘OR’ statement. →
To add another filter, click ‘+Add New Filter’.
For example, select ‘Email Bounce Rate’, set the operator to ‘Greater Than’, and enter 60%. → Save your work
Tip: To add a filter to exclude test emails, search for the Test Email Indicator dimension, and set it to ‘False’.
Create a Flat Table Report
From Analytics Builder → drop down menu appears, select Intelligence Reports. → click and be on the ‘Reports’ tab. → Click ‘Create New Report’. Note You can also create the same report from the Pivot Table module by using schedule export as a flat table. → Define your ‘General’ details.
Enter a Name.
Select the Export Format: CSV or Excel. Note: The configuration settings change according to the format type you select. For example, if you select CSV, not all the fields are available.
→ Define your ‘Configuration’ details:
To determine the dates you want to pull data from, select the Time Period. You can use a predefined time period, such as week, month, or year, or you can define a custom date.
In Measurements, select the measurements you want pulled into the report, for example, email sends. You can select up to 100 measurements.
In Dimensions, select the dimensions you want pulled into your report, for example, send date. You can select up to 80 dimensions

Customize your report in the ‘Configuration settings’ area:
To include the total numbers in the report, select the ‘Show Totals’ checkbox.
From the ‘Sort By’ dropdown, search for and choose the dimension or measurement you want to sort the report by. You can choose from any of the selected dimensions or measurements.
From the ‘Sort Order’ dropdown, select the way you want to sort, either descending or ascending order.
To add another filter to your report, click ‘Add Filter’. For example, you can also filter by Campaign Name. For more information about filters, refer to Apply Filters.

Create a Pivot Table Report
From Analytics Builder → drop down menu appears, select Intelligence Reports. → click and be on the ‘Reports’ tab. → Click ‘Create New Report’. Note When creating the report from scratch, you must link to an existing pivot table. The configuration settings come from the pivot table, so any changes made to the source affect the configuration settings of the report later on. → For ‘General’ details, name the report and select ‘Export Format: Pivot Table’. → To define your report configuration details, select the time period from which to pull data. → Specify when and how to deliver the report.
Create a ‘Dashboard Report’
From Analytics Builder → drop down menu appears, select Intelligence Reports. → click and be on the ‘Reports’ tab. →
Define your ‘General’ details.
Enter a Name.
Select the Export Format: ‘PDF’.
To determine how long reports are kept before they’re deleted, enter the ‘Purge Report History’ (Days). For example, if you enter 30, all reports are deleted after 30 days. Note: By default, the number of days is set to 180, which is also the maximum number of days you can keep reports.
→ Define your ‘Configuration details’, and select the dashboard page for which you’re creating the report. → Define scheduling and delivery methods for the report.

Set ‘Report’ Schedule and Delivery Method
From Analytics Builder → drop down menu appears, select Intelligence Reports. → click on ‘Reports’ tab →
Method 1: you click ‘Create New Report’ → Once you define your dimensions and measurements, scroll down to the ‘Report Scheduling’ section to toggle it ‘Active’ and set up your frequency and delivery options.
Method 2:
A. Open the dashboard page you want to share, click the ‘Share’ or ‘Schedule Export’ option in the top right corner, and configure it to send as a visual file (PDF/PNG).
B. Open your predefined pivot table, click ‘Schedule Export’, and choose to send it as a data file (Excel/CSV) or a flat table.
→ When defining a report, go to the ‘Report Scheduling’ area. → Select the ‘Active’ checkbox. After you select this checkbox, all options are enabled. →
Select how frequently you want the report to be sent from the ‘Frequency’ dropdown of ‘[None, Hourly, Daily, Weekly, Bi-Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly]’. More settings are added based on the frequency you select. For example, if you select daily, you can set how many times a day the report is sent. If you select weekly, you can also set the day of the week and time.
In ‘Delivery Hour’, enter the exact hour you want the report to be sent. Note: If you want to use an automatic hour instead of defining your own hour, select Automatic. By default, automatic is defined as 6:00 UTC.
→ In the ‘Delivery Method’ dropdown in the Connection Info area, select how you want the report to be exported and shared.

→ For example, select ‘Email’. NOTE: More settings are available depending on the delivery method you select. For example, if you select ‘Email’, you can enter the recipients’ email addresses. If you select ‘FTPS’, you can enter the FTPS details.
→ To apply this scheduler to your report, click ‘Add As New Scheduler’. Note: If you don’t complete this step, then your report can’t run on a schedule. → To create a scheduler using the same configuration, for example, if you also want to share the report via FTPS, change the delivery method to FTPS. Then fill in any necessary settings, and click ‘Add As New Scheduler’. After you complete this step, a new row is added to the table. → To change a scheduler and override the settings, select the row of the scheduler, and make your changes, for example, change the delivery hour. Then click ‘Update Scheduler’. → After you define your report and schedulers, click ‘Save and Run’, or to save the settings and not run the report, click ‘Save’.
Flat Table (Excel/CSV)
Reports in Intelligence Reports formats for: Creates a flat file with the data. For example, display the total number of sends per send date.
Pivot Table (XLS)
Reports in Intelligence Reports formats for: Creates an Excel in the same structure as your pivot table view.
Dashboard (PDF)
Reports in Intelligence Reports formats for: Exports a dashboard into a PDF.
Manage ‘Reports’
From your reports list, you can view all your reports, edit, delete, and create a copy.
If you want to make changes to a report, click ‘Edit’. For example, change the delivery hour.
If you want to create a copy of a report and make changes to it, click ‘Duplicate’. You can duplicate the reports with or without the schedulers.
If a report is no longer needed, click ‘Delete’. When you delete a report, it goes to your workspace bin. If you want to restore a deleted report, contact support.
To run the report immediately, click ‘Run Now’.
To process the reports and split the data into files by date, click ‘Batch Process’. Batch processing doesn’t affect the original report configuration.
View Report History
From Analytics Builder → drop down menu appears, select Intelligence Reports. → Select the ‘Reports’ tab. → Select a report, and then click ‘History’. A list appears with all the report executions. Each time a report runs, a new job is executed and a new row appears in the list. → If you want to perform actions on a specific log, select the row of the log. →
Perform one of the following:
Edit — To edit the report’s configuration settings.
Delete — To delete a log from the list.
Refresh — To refresh the history log, which can be useful if you ran a report and the status changed.
Download — To download the report output.
Run Now — To run the same report again.
Rerun Now — To run the same job again.
Report Settings
From Analytics Builder → drop down menu appears, select Intelligence Reports. → click and be on ‘Setup’ tab and click ‘Report Settings’. → By default, the ‘Allow Download of Large Attachments’ toggle is enabled. To prevent a download link of your report from being sent, disable the toggle.
Apply Filters to a Report
From Analytics Builder → drop down menu appears, select Intelligence Reports. → click and be on the ‘Reports’ tab, select a report. → Under ‘Configuration’, click ‘Add Filter’. →
To add a dimension, for example, if you want to filter by the campaign name “Birthday”:
Select ‘Custom Dimensions’.
Search for the required dimension, and enter ‘Campaign’.
Select the value. In this case, Birthday.
To apply the filter, save your work.
→ To add a custom dimension, for example, if you want to filter by an email name that contains the characters “NTO”:
Select ‘Custom Dimensions’.
Select the dimension from the dropdown list, and select ‘Email Content Name’.
Select the operator from the dropdown list, and select ‘Contains’.
Enter the value in the field. In this case, enter “NTO.”
To apply the filter, save your work.

You can add multiple operators when filtering to retrieve dimensions that contain specific information according to defined rules. For example, get all the campaigns that contain the names, ‘“welcome” or “birthday” and that come from audiences that contain the letters DE.
A. Define the first rule. For example, Audience Name contains DE.
Select the dimension from the dropdown list, and select Audience Name.
Select the operator from the dropdown list, and select ‘Contains’.
Enter the value in the field, in this case, enter DE.
B. Define the match either rule. For example, Campaign matches either ‘Welcome’ or ‘Birthday’
Select the dimension from dropdown list, and select Campaign.
Select the operator from the dropdown list, and select ‘Matches Either’.
Enter the value in the field. In this case, use an asterisk (*) at the beginning and at the end of the value with a comma separating the values. For example, ‘*Welcome*’, ‘*Birthday*’.
C. To apply the filter, save your work.

To add a custom measurement, for example, if you want to filter by email bounce rate that equals 80%:
Select ‘Custom Measurements’.
Select the measurement from the dropdown list, and select ‘Email Bounce Rate’.
Select the operator from the dropdown list, and select ‘Greater Than’.
Enter the value in the field. In this case, enter 80%.
To apply the filter, save your work.
Tip: To add a filter to exclude test emails, search for the Test Email Indicator dimension, and then set it to False. After you do, test emails don’t appear in your pivot tables or reports.
Create a Scheduled Report for a Collection
From Analytics Builder → drop down menu appears, select Intelligence Reports. → click and be on the ‘Dashboard’ tab → click on ‘Visualize’. → Click the collection you want to export, and then click ‘Share’. → Select ‘Scheduled Report’. You’re redirected to the ‘Reports’ tab, and a new report is created for you according to the format you selected. If you want to change the export format, select the format you want from the ‘Export Format’ dropdown list. You can schedule collections to be exported in those formats. → Under ‘Configuration’, the collection you selected is listed as the Dashboard, and All pages in Dashboard is listed as the Page. → When you’re done defining your report, save it, or click ‘Save & Run’ to run it.
A scheduled report of your collection sends a PPT, PNG, or PDF file, depending on how you configure the settings.
Create a Scheduled Report for a Dashboard Page
From Analytics Builder → drop down menu appears, select Intelligence Reports. → click and be on the ‘Dashboard’ tab → click on ‘Visualize’. → Click on the collection, and then select the dashboard page you want to export. → Click ‘Share’. → Select ‘Scheduled Report’ to be redirected to the ‘Reports’ tab. A new report is created for you according to the format you selected. → To change the export format, select the format you want from the ‘Export format’ dropdown list. You can schedule dashboard pages to be exported in these formats: PNG, PDF. → Under ‘Configuration’, the Dashboard and Page are automatically selected for you based on the dashboard page you exported. If you want to export a page that includes Interactive FilterSets, click the ‘Page’ dropdown, and select the layout that includes the interactive filterset you want to use from the ‘Custom Layouts’ section. If you want to export a page with interactive filtersets and later edit the widget layout and save new layouts, use ‘Advanced Export’. → When you’re done defining your report, save it, or click ‘Save & Run’ to run it.
