  1. Over the 24 hours needed for earth to make a full rotation, the moon itself has orbited 12 degree of angle in its monthly 360 degree journey to orbit around the earth.

  2. It takes 50 minutes for the earth to rotate an additional 12 degrees to get back under the moon.
