Inguinal Ligament

Purpose:
Serves as attachment site for lower portion of external oblique muscle
Femoral Artery, Nerve, and Vein
Location:
Found in the femoral triangle

Tendons of the Pes Anserinus
Sartorius, gracilis, and semi tendinosus
Sacrotuberous Ligament
Attachments:
⢠Ischial tuberosity
⢠Edge of sacrum
Posterior Sacroiliac Ligament
Attachments:
⢠PSIS
⢠Sacrum
Purpose:
Support the union of the posterior sacrum and ilium
Sciatic Nerve
Location:
Passes through greater sciatic notch, between the ischial tuberosity and greater trochanter, and into posterior thigh
Trochanteric Bursa
Posterior lateral aspect of greater trochanter
Purpose:
Reduce friction between the trochanter and gluteus maximus
Iliolumbar Ligament
Attachments:
⢠L4 & L5 Transverse processes
⢠Posterior iliac crest
Purpose:
Stabilize the L4 and L5 vertebrae
