INHERENT LEADER
Born with definite traits and attributes of leadership. Such people are, “Marked” or, “Spotted,” at an early stage.
NOMINATED LEADER
Rise to occasion, crisis, or emergency that requires the action of a leader. At times, though he may not make any effort to display leadership, his companions acclaimed him to be the leader. Very often, his group recognizes him.
LEADER BY “AUTHORITY”
Designated leader. In that, he gets his mandate from higher authority, and necessarily, from his peers.
MILITARY LEADERSHIP
The art of influencing and directing men in such a way to obtain their willing obedience, confidence, respect, and loyal cooperation to accomplish the mission.
LEADERSHIP TRAITS
Personal qualities of direct value to the leader in gaining the willing obedience, confidence, respect, and loyalty cooperation of his men to accomplish the mission.
LEADERSHIP PRINCIPLES
Fundamental guidelines for the selection of appropriate actions and orders in the proper exercise of command.
MORALE
State of mind of the individual. This depends upon his attitude towards everything that affects him.
DISCIPLINE
An individual of group attitude that inspires prompt obedience to orders and initiation of prompt action in absence of orders.
LEADER
A person who influences or directs others.
COMMANDER
Person formally designated to direct the activities of a unit of any size.
COMMAND
Is an authority, a member of the armed forces lawfully exerts over subordinates by virtue of his rank or assignment. The commander is responsible for initiating the appropriate actions and for supervising all the activities within his command.
