Diptongo
La unión de dos vocales en la misma sílaba.
Diptongo Formation
A vocal cerrada átona (i, u) + a vocal abierta (a, e, o) OR two different vocal cerrada (i, u).
Diptongo Rules
They are pronounced in the same syllable and are not separated when dividing into syllables.
Hiato
The separation of two vowels that would normally form a diptongo.
Hiato Formation
Two open vowels together (a, e, o) OR a vocal cerrada tónica (accented) next to an open vowel.
Palabras Agudas
Words where the tonic syllable is the last one and are only accented if they end in N, S, or a vowel.
Palabras Graves o Llanas
Words where the tonic syllable is the second to last and are only accented if they end in a consonant that is not N, S, or a vowel.
Palabras Esdrújulas
Words where the tonic syllable is the third to last and always have an accent mark.
Palabras Sobresdrújulas
Words where the tonic syllable is before the third to last and always have an accent mark.

Mundo Ordinario (Ordinary World)
The hero lives their normal life.
Llamado a la Aventura (Call to Adventure)
Something interrupts the hero's routine.
Rechazo del Llamado (Refusal of the Call)
The hero experiences doubt, fear, or initial refusal.
Encuentro con el Mentor (Meeting the Mentor)
A guide trains or advises the hero.
Cruzando el Umbral (Crossing the Threshold)
The hero enters a new/unknown world.
Pruebas, Aliados y Enemigos (Tests, Allies, and Enemies)
The hero faces obstacles and meets key characters.
Acercamiento a la Cueva más Profunda (Approach to the Inmost Cave)
The hero approaches the most dangerous moment.
La Gran Prueba (Calvario) / The Ordeal
The hero faces their greatest fear/obstacle.
Recompensa (Reward)
The hero gains the 'elixir', knowledge, or power.
The Road Back (El Camino de Regreso)
The hero returns to the ordinary world.
Resurrection
The hero faces a last ordeal and has changed.
Regreso con el Elixir (Return with the Elixir)
The hero brings something that benefits others.
