Applied force
An applied force is a push or a pull given to an object by a person or another object.
Unbalanced force
An unbalanced push or pull exerted on an object.
Balanced force
A balanced push or pull exerted on an object.
Inertia
The tendency of an object to resist a change in motion.
Momentum
A measure of how hard it is to stop a moving object. It depends entirely on mass (how heavy the object is) and velocity (how fast the object is moving and in what direction).
Friction
The force that two surfaces exert on each other when rubbing together.
Sliding friction
The force that two surfaces exert on each other when sliding past or together.
Static friction
The force that two surfaces exert on each other when rubbing together that creates static.
Rolling friction
The force that two surfaces exert on each other in a rolling motion.
Newton's 1st Law
An object in motion tends to stay in motion, and an object at rest tends to stay at rest unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.
Newton's 2nd Law
Force is equal to mass times acceleration.
Newton's 3rd Law
For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
