Segregated confinement
Confinement of an incarcerated individual to an individual occupancy housing unit for more than 17 hours a day, excluding emergencies or medical/mental health treatment.
Special population
Includes incarcerated individuals aged 21 or younger, 55 or older, with a disability, or pregnant/caring for a child in the facility.
Residential rehabilitation unit
A separate housing unit for therapy and rehabilitative programming for individuals needing more than 15 days of segregated confinement.

Provided to non-English speaking, illiterate, or otherwise unable inmates at least 24 hours before a hearing, including various forms of aid such as understanding evidence and filing appeals.
Administrative Segregation
Immediate confinement of an incarcerated individual threatening facility safety pending a disciplinary hearing, subject to specific criteria and time limitations.
Segregated Confinement
Confinement meeting specified criteria for segregated confinement, not lasting more than forty-eight hours from placement, with a written statement provided within 24 hours.
