the gauge on top of the oxygen cylinder closest to the oxygen gas line - measures the pressure of the gas within the oxygen line

selects the oxygen flow rate running through the anesthetic machine and patient

delivers oxygen directly into the system, bypassing the vaporizer

inhalation flutter valve

unidirectional valve that opens when the patient exhales

valve that must be set as open or closed - allows waste gas to exit into the scavenger system

reservoir bag

attached to the machine used to store excess gas mixture

passive scavenging hose 

corrugated hose that delivers waste gas to the activated charcoal canister 

activated charcoal canister

absorbs wast gas - it is discarded when the inital weight increases by 50 grams
