Glossary (Glosario)
A list of concepts and words studied up to a given point considered important, highlighted with their respective definitions.
Research Protocol (Protocolo de Investigación)
A set of standardized rules, instructions, or steps that serve as a step-by-step guide or procedure in developing research.
Paradigm (Paradigma)
A set of beliefs, values, assumptions, methods, and theoretical approaches that guide and ground how researchers address and understand reality.
Participatory Research (Investigación Participativa)
A type of research that seeks to involve the community to find solutions together.
Positivist Research (Investigación Positivista)
A type of research that seeks to explain with numbers and data, where everything is verified and highly objective.
Interpretive Research (Investigación Interpretativa)
A type of research that seeks to understand what people think and feel, focusing on qualitative aspects.
Critical Research (Investigación Crítica)
A type of research that seeks to analyze and change an unjust reality, aiming to transform rather than merely understand.
Basic Research (Investigación Básica)
A type of research that seeks to obtain new knowledge without being immediately concerned with its practical application.
Applied Research (Investigación Aplicada)
A type of research that seeks to solve a real problem using existing knowledge.
Documentary Research (Investigación Documental)
A type of research that searches for information in books, articles, and the internet.
Field Research (Investigación de Campo)
A type of research that goes directly to the location where the problem occurs to gather data with the people involved.
Experimental Research (Investigación Experimental)
A type of research that conducts an experiment by intentionally changing something to observe the outcome.
Exploratory Research (Investigación Exploratoria)
A type of research that seeks an initial approach to recognize and understand a situation.
Descriptive Research (Investigación Descriptiva)
A type of research that seeks to measure and detail exact data regarding a phenomenon.
Explanatory Research (Investigación Explicativa)
A type of research that seeks to answer the causes and underlying reasons behind a problem.
Qualitative Approach (Enfoque Cualitativo)
A research approach based on interpretation, context, narrative, perceptions, and observation.
Quantitative Approach (Enfoque Cuantitativo)
A research approach based on numbers, patterns, statistics, data, variables, and structured analysis.
Title (Título)
The protocol element that must reflect the core meaning and focus of the research.
Abstract / Summary (Resumen)
The protocol element that briefly contains the objectives, research design, and methodology.
Introduction (Introducción)
The protocol element that contextualizes the research within its field of study and highlights its importance.
Background (Antecedentes)
The protocol element referring to prior studies documented to technically justify the work, covering contextual, historical, and report aspects.
Problem Statement (Planteamiento del Problema)
The protocol element presenting the problem through different approaches, requiring technical precision, clear delimitation, and identification of key questions or knowledge gaps.
Hypothesis (Hipótesis)
An assertion or tentative explanation requiring verification that explains the problem statement and the causes originating the issue.
Research Objectives (Objetivos de Investigación)
The protocol element formulating questions about the research problem (answering what, when, where, how long, or for what purpose) using infinitive verbs.
Theoretical and Contextual Framework (Marco Teórico y Contextual)
The protocol element that argues the significance of the research based on concurrent studies and official data.
Methodological Framework (Marco Metodológico)
The protocol element specifying the type of study, whether field, documentary, or experimental.
Population and Sample (Población y Muestra)
The protocol element indicating the selected subjects (such as witnesses or selected profiles) and the methods for selecting the sample.
Variables and Measurements (Variables y Mediciones)
The research elements considered part of the study that must be measured using appropriate instruments and techniques.
Data Collection (Recolección de Datos)
The protocol element referring to the techniques used for gathering information.

Specific Objectives (Objetivos Específicos)
Objectives that appear at each stage of the research and accumulate to achieve the general objective.
Spatial Delimitation (Delimitación de Espacio)
A type of research delimitation that specifies the scope, location, or physical area addressed in the study.
Temporal Delimitation (Delimitación del Tiempo)
A type of research delimitation that defines the timeframe or time period covered by the study.
