Based on the ionic naming rules, what are the rules when it comes to naming the compound containing polyatomic ions.
When naming with a polyatomic ion, the name does not change and a suffix is not added.
When naming an ionic compound, which is written first, the cation or the anion?
Cation
How can you tell if an ion is a type I or type II
A type I ion has only one possible energy typically found in the main group. Type II ions have 2 or more possible charges and are typically in the d and f block. Some exception are Pb, Sn, Sb, which are in the p-block but are type II
What prefixes do covalent naming rules follow? Name them all.
(1) mon, 2(di), 3(tri), 4(tetra), 5 (pent), 6 (hex), 7(hept), 8(oct), 9(non), 10(dec)
