Architectural Order
Refers to the style involved in the design and structure of buildings: The three stages of Greek column development: the Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian
Freeze
A decorative band or frieze on a wall; often detailed in relief.
Capital
The topmost element of a column.
Metope
A space between two triglyphs of a Doric frieze often adorned with carved work.
Pediment
A triangular space that forms the gable of a low-pitched roof and that is usually filled with relief sculpture in classical architecture.
Contrapposto
A position of the depicted human body in which twisting of the vertical axis results in hips, shoulders, and head turned in different directions.
Triglyph
A slightly projected rectangular tablet in a Doric frieze with two vertical channels of V section and two corresponding chamfers half channels on vertical sides

A style of pottery decoration using black slip on red clay.
Red figure pottery
A style of pottery in which the background is painted black and the figures remain red.
