Hi everyone! This is a general flashcard consisting of facts and definitions you should know for AP psychology. There may be some mistakes in spelling, and some niche terms may not be covered (I apologize if this happens). Counseling
helps peoplecope with challenge/crisis, improve mental health
Clinical psychologist
help assess/treat people with mental disorders; Both counseling and clinical interpret tests and do applied research
Psychiatrist
help treat people with mental disorders; prescribe drugs to treat disorders, medical doctors
Dorothea Dix
led humane treatment of those with mental disorders; improved psych ward conditions
Community psychologists
community psychologists change the environment to benefit people instead of forcing people to fit in.
