Biological psychologist

studying the link between body/mind

Developmental Psychologist

study changing ability from birth to death

Cognitive Psychologist

studying how we perceive, think, solve

Educational psychologist

studying interlinked effects of teaching and learning, classroom psychology

Personality Psychologist

studying our persistent traits

Social psychologists

studying how we view/affect each other; Different from sociology because it's focused on individuals operating in groups, sociology focuses on the group as a whole

Industrial

organizational psychologist

Human factors psychologist

focuses on the interaction of ppl/machines/physical environment, related to I/O psych

Counseling

helps peoplecope with challenge/crisis, improve mental health

Clinical psychologist

help assess/treat people with mental disorders; Both counseling and clinical interpret tests and do applied research

Psychiatrist

help treat people with mental disorders; prescribe drugs to treat disorders, medical doctors

Dorothea Dix

led humane treatment of those with mental disorders; improved psych ward conditions

Community psychologists

community psychologists change the environment to benefit people instead of forcing people to fit in.
