Synthesizes, modifies, and transports cell material.

Smooth: No ribosomes

Rough: Has Ribosomes

Ribosome

Small particles that make protein

Golgi Body

Processes and packages cell products to ship out

Lysosome

Cell clean up crew

Vacuole

Animal: Stores water and waste

Plant: Maintains water balance

Chloroplasts

Captures the sun’s energy in order to make food during photosynthesis. (Plant only)

Cytoplasm

Gel-like substance that surrounds the organelles and allows nutrients to move inside the cell.
