Inequality Division Rule
The rule stating that when solving inequalities, you flip the inequality sign only if dividing by a negative number.
Inequality Solution Interval
The solution representation for −3x≤15 after dividing by −3 and flipping the sign, yielding x≥−5 or interval notation [−5,∞).
LCD Method for Fraction Equations
The algebraic procedure of eliminating fractions from an equation by multiplying all terms by the LCD.
No Solution (Parallel Lines)
The result obtained when solving an equation yields a false statement (such as 3=4), indicating parallel lines that never intersect.
All Real Numbers (One Line)
The result obtained when solving an equation yields an identity (such as −2=−2), indicating identical lines with infinitely many solutions.
Horizontal Line Properties
A horizontal line passing through (3,4) that has a slope m=0 and the equation y=4.
Vertical Line Properties
A vertical line passing through points (1,3) and (1,−7) that has an undefined slope and the equation x=1.
Monday Test Schedule
A 45 minute exam scheduled on Monday covering all class notes up to Friday of this week.
